The potential of encounters

Sarah Wohlfeld from More in Common puts it in a nutshell:  "Our society needs encounters." This means facilitating interactions between people with different values and worldviews. The aim is to strengthen social cohesion by developing trust - trust in democracy, in our communities and, most importantly, in each other.

According to Sarah Wohlfeld, this can be achieved through mutual engagement. It requires “encounters not only between those who are alike and share similar values and worldviews, but also between those with different perspectives and life experiences.”

Such interactions can help break down prejudices, stereotypes and hostilities, and promote understanding and acceptance between people.
