Intercultural Management

"For a stronger sense of togetherness in Schmalkalden"

What is intercultural management?

Whether in large cities or in rural communities, we are witnessing a changing society. Diversity has become an integral part of our daily lives, with various social, economic, cultural, and religious experiences and backgrounds intersecting. Conflicts often arise from misunderstandings, discomfort with unfamiliar scenarios or challenges to established norms.

The challenges and opportunities now lie in nurturing this growing diversity into a sustainable aspect of our society. It is about creating a social environment in which individuals can freely interact and meet, promoting unity over division in different sectors: in local businesses, institutions and the education system.

Taking a holistic approach, WORT aims not only to initiate intercultural opening processes within organisations, but also to promote a welcoming culture in all facets of daily life, including kindergartens, schools, administrations, the media, leisure facilities, hospitals, commerce, service providers and care facilities for the elderly.

Achieving such intercultural openness is a gradual process that takes time. Let us make this journey together.

Why is intercultural management important?

Faced with the realities of skilled labour shortages and demographic change, almost every sector will soon need to attract more international talent and embrace cultural diversity as a key opportunity.

Engagement and participation.

Embarking on such a transformative journey requires recognising the need for openness. Achieving a state of readiness for intercultural openness is a significant step forward. The active participation of the community is essential for the successful realisation of these efforts.

Intercultural opening in practice: in South Thuringia, in Schmalkalden, at the meeting centre.

Intercultural management should not only be seen as the responsibility of companies and public institutions but must also be visible and practiced in everyday life.

For this reason, a meeting centre has been set up in the heart of Schmalkalden, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, engage in a conversation and take part in a variety of events.

We invite you to visit the meeting centre!
