Second round of the training course „Beauftragte:r Weltoffene Organisation“ successfully completed
The second round of the certified " Beauftragt:r Weltoffene Organisation” (Representative for Cosmopolitan Organisations) training course, designed, organised and held by WORT, concluded with the third and final module on 16-17 January 2025. Marked by high levels of participation and enthusiastic engagement throughout, this final round was a resounding success. Throughout the three modules, there was a dynamic atmosphere of open exchange that fostered meaningful dialogue and collaboration among participants. An outstanding feature of the training was the sustained enthusiasm and active participation of the participants. Throughout the course, they openly shared their experiences and perspectives, creating a lively and interactive learning environment. Topics such as the challenges and opportunities of fostering cosmopolitan organisations were explored in depth, sparking insightful discussions.
The third module offered a rich mix of theoretical reflection and practical application. On the first day, Kathrin Schuchardt from Weimar led a workshop entitled „Auf die Haltung kommt es an: Umgang mit (politisch) dissonanten Meinungen“( "It's the attitude that counts: navigating (politically) dissonant opinions"). This session invited participants to critically examine their own attitudes while equipping them with strategies for dealing with different and often conflicting opinions.
On the second day, the focus shifted to practical learning. Participants applied their newly acquired knowledge through interactive discussions and creative exercises. Together, they developed actionable frameworks and practical models to enhance their role as advocates for greater open-mindedness within their organisations. These tools are designed to promote inclusive and effective communication and empower participants to implement positive change in their respective work environments.
One of the most striking aspects of the training was the strong personal commitment of the participants. They brought not only their professional expertise, but also their unique personal insights, contributing to a deep and meaningful exchange. This openness facilitated connections beyond the core training topics, enriching the overall experience.
Participants also expressed a strong interest in fostering stronger links between those who had completed the first and second rounds of training. Many shared their desire to continue sharing ideas, building relationships and supporting each other well beyond the formal sessions. This highlights the enduring value of community building and ongoing dialogue in strengthening networks of open-minded advocates.
In conclusion, the second round of the WORT training was a successful continuation of the first round. It not only deepened participants' knowledge and skills but also cultivated lasting relationships and expanded a growing network of champions for open-minded organisations.
