We are very happy to welcome you on our campus soon! You have an exciting time ahead of you, filled with interesting encounters, new opportunities, but also challenges. As you adjust to a new country and culture, you may feel confused, overwhelmed or even insecure at first.
With the pre-onboarding course "See you in Schmalkalden!", we would like to help you settle into your new cultural environment and prepare you for the start of your studies in Germany. "See you in Schmalkalden!" is especially designed to cater to the needs of our new international students with minimal to no knowledge of German.
What can you expect from the course?
Cultural orientation: You will gain insight into the unique aspects of daily life in Germany, understand cultural norms and develop intercultural skills to help you adapt more smoothly.
Learning German made easy: You will improve your German language skills in a supportive environment by practising listening, reading, speaking and writing through engaging, real-life scenarios.
Campus and regional insights: You will explore the diversity of the (South) Thuringia region, get to know our university and our extensive support services.
The pre-onboarding course is offered completely free of charge, but the places are limited.
